Thanks for visiting Retrified Games. This site is a hobby project of mine, and I’m solely responsible for the content. Like many children of the 80’s, I grew up with fond memories of the Atari 2600, the Nintendo Entertainment system, the original Game Boy, and so many great games. My parents were always hesitant to let me play too many games for fear it would disrupt my studies, so I didn’t have my own game system until I finished grad school in the early 2000’s and picked up a SNES. What a blast, going back and revisiting games like Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Killer Instinct, and many others.
Ever since then, I’ve dabbled in retro gaming. While my job and my family prevent me from spending too much time game, I’ve continued to be fascinated by games the games culture ever since. On YouTube, like I’m sure many of you, I’ve enjoyed the rise of James Rolfe and been amazed by the quality of niche web shows like The Video Game Years and The Game Chasers.
I hope you’ll enjoy the site. I spend my days analyzing data for a large corporation. It occurred to me that it would be fun to do something similar in my evenings using publicly available data that I’ve gathered for systems from the NES to the PS2. If the site turns out to be popular, I may add some additional gaming styles as well like handhelds.
